About Erith Operatic Society
Erith Operatic Society is an amateur society based in Erith, Kent and
performing 1 show a year. We specialise in light operettas with a
strong chorus element - shows with plenty of humour and rousing choruses full of good
singable tunes. Over recent years these have included shows by Gilbert and Sullivan (eg
Pirates of Penzance, Mikado), Offenbach (Orpheus in the Underworld, La Vie Parisienne) and
Strauss (Die Fledermaus).
We perform at Erith Playhouse and the emphasis is on enjoyment, both for our audience and ourselves.
I like Singing
We rehearse at Belvedere Methodist Hall in Picardy Road on a Thursday once a week from early Setpember until
our show, which is usually around April. We start promptly at 8pm and finish at 10pm.
We also hold several social functions throughout the year, events such as quizzes, barbeques,
theatre trips.
If you enjoy singing and would like to join, please fill in our form and someone will get back to you.
I like Watching
Would you like to be a patron? For a nominal sum Patrons are listed in the programme and receive
2 free tickets for our annual show. Or if you would like to be put on our mailing so that
you don't miss our next show, please fill in your details here.
I'd like to help but don't want to be on stage
Like any group, there are always lots of jobs to do that don't involve being on stage - helping with costumes,
props, set building and painting etc. If you would like to get involved, just fill in your details here.
